chio questions

XO here is. Idle of pack in old row and not at the level at some other SEC schools, particularly in MS— where they are top. Issue for them is they are too centered on certain schools in certain town where they have long term relationships. They are not very open. More connections

I like them much better than KD as far as Mississippi and in state go.

ChiO here is irrelevant. They do not match the standards of other southern ChiO chapters. They put on a decent rush but then fade into the background. True they're good in MS, but they are definitely at least third and sometimes 4th or 5th depending on who you talk to. ChiO chapters all over have a decent reputation but have ended up pledging some dud girls who have a good gpa and clean up well for rush but end up being big ol' nerds that no one wants to hang around or be sisters with!

XO is semi-solid and totally unspectacular, boring even.

Okay as someone from Mississippi and a student here, Chi O here is probably just as prestigious by name, but the Ole Miss and MSU chapters could run circles around them. Probably because there are twice as many sororities here as there are there, so the personalities are way more defined here. Like Chi O in MS is some straight up connection and legacy, some camp girls, some SGA types, some pageant and prom queens, but all scary smart and hella involved. Those girls are split into 3 or 4 sororities at the MS schools, and 6 or 7 here. Like only 3 groups RUN their campuses, but a lot do here. And I wouldn't consider Chi O here a group that runs things because their a little more chill girl. But they are type A go getters in MS. So while OR here is top and has awesome members, I don't we're as diverse in personalities and achievement as top MS chapters because similar girls go to the same houses here and are more mixed together there. That's how it looks to me anyway and I know a ton of people from home in those Greek systems, but take it with a grain of salt of course.

And it doesn’t help them that their physical house is probably the least attractive on campus. Not a truly big deal and not a decision maker in most people’s choices, but they should have rebuilt instead of adding on to their existing house.

I am in another house at Bama, not XO. So sad to see such a negative post about a chapter here. We are at Bama, which is fantastic! Who cares about Mississippi? Many admire XO as their academic record is one of the best on campus. We should be lifting each other up, even on GR.

XO is definitely a top house at Bama. No doubt about it.
