summer trips
by: ShallowYou all don't need to tell me that this is shallow thinking because I know it is-- but I read a lot that the sororities who care about $$$ will ask you about your summer trips etc. If I'm going to Europe this summer will they consider that impressive?

Try not to obsess about the meaning behind questions you are asked during recruitment. Every house asks about summer trips. It's a good conversation topic to get you talking so we can see what your personality is like. Lots of girls go to Europe and take expensive trips so that alone will not make you special. It's THE WAY you talk about your trip, or anything else, that actives will remember.

I'm trying to think if how I'll answer certain questions like this one. Sure we're going to our beach house in HHI and my mom, 2 younger sisters and I are taking a NYC shopping/girls trip, but we do those things every summer.
BUT my best friend is moving is LA and an bunch of us are road tripping to help her move, but really just for fun 2 week long "Bye HS party" so yeah that's going to be more interesting.

Stop trying to impress us. Literally what we're looking for is girls that we like for their personalities and who they are. We're not looking for girls who fake crap to impress us. Be yourself. Seriously. Would you want to get into a sorority because you lied about a house in HH? What if a big group of girls says "We're going to HHI for spring break. Where is your house located?"

Nah, it's just the crazy trolls trying to create a certain image of sororities that fits their narrative of rich snottiness instead of the reality of being just actual people of all kinds.
