how do mixers get works, hc pairings work...

Ok PMN here. I looked up the most recent grade report and I don't know how certain things work.
How do you mixers when the frats Are so so much smaller? Or any Greek things when one sorority pairs with a certain fraternity?

Just to start off, they’re called swaps, not mixers. Pretty much, the boys pledge classes are around 40 guys. Sometimes more with the bigger frats, sometimes less with the smaller ones. Meanwhile, PCs for girls can be anywhere from 110-150 girls depending on the sorority and number of pnms/quota. Yes, this is a little weird because theres like 3 times as many girls as there are guys. Swaps are extremely fun. They are more about bonding and having fun dressing up with your new sisters on top of meeting new guys. Swaps are basically just like costume parties, but there are also dinner swaps where the guys come to your house to eat dinner before a swap to interact. Swaps are super fun and definitely the highlight of new member period! If you’re only joining a sorority to meet frat guys, you’re joining it for the wrong reasons.

Old row sororities and a few new row (alpha phi, zta, pi phi) usually do swaps with university frats. Those are the larger houses. All the rest swap with the smaller houses on Jefferson. There are a lot more girls than guys but these swaps are more about interacting with and getting to know your pledge class. The boys are an added bonus. Greek week and hoco changes every year. I've heard the pairings are based on greek points but I could be wrong. It switches every year though.

I'm pretty sure aphi swapped with all university houses this year except for delta chi bc a different house had to cancel last minute. People can hate on them but it doesn't change the fact that frats still love them

Alpha phi definitely has swapped with university houses in the past. Not sure if that changed this year though after everything

my roommate is an aphi and they only swap with university frats. also, the person above is right. one university frat had to pull out of their swap last minute due to scheduling so they ended up swapping with DX. my roommate said no one went lol

No. Actually, A Phi isn't a house the top fraternities swap with. Some of the girls are pretty but they're the kind of girls that are embarrassing to show up with at a party.
