football players and frats

by: Andrew- rushin

I'm a transfer this year and was wondering, Are any of the frats strictly football players? Cause that's how it was at my old school and that's where the girls wanted to be. And let me tell you they had the best parties. I was wondering cause obviously the football there is like no other. And if so how strict are they on letting others in and such?

You think Saban would allow a football "frat" house?

No to answer your question. A lot of the times you can find football players at the fraternity parties. Some are even in one but it's rare.

Typically don't join fraternities. It would be so rare to see them. They practice so much, a lot of them don't come from wealthy families that can pay dues, and they can party wherever they want anyway. You'll see them out, but not at a chapter meeting

Over half of them aren't even household names so you sometimes may not even know.

You guys have a lot of nerve to get mad at him for speaking the truth when you can barely spot one black person anywhere in your Greek system. And yet he's ignorant? This is one of the main reasons why the rest of the school hates you losers.

My fraternity (I was an executive officer for one of the "gold standard" frats) tried to open up to more diverse members. Frankly, however, we simply couldn't compete with the black Greek organizations.

Greek life is definitely segregated but I think it's a mutual thing....not all us, not all them.

I am perfectly fine and I think i speak for all of us when I say we love our Greek system segregated and don’t want it getting all mixed up and ruined by outsiders. Our Greek society was founded on strong traditions and principles. If you don’t like it there are over 100 other schools elsewhere in the nation.

Football players here are way too busy to rush a fraternity. They got practice and gotta carry their team. Roll tide!

Anyways, the fraternities here are dudes from alabama and guys looking for a brotherhood as well as a fun time in college

This ain't your typical big 10, acc or pac 10 school where the top frats are littered with roided up bros. Closest thing here would be meathead pike or sigma chi who have a lot of oos.

Top frats here are very southern. They are pretty pretty much full of wealthy guys and legacies from Alabama with old money. It's based on long established traditions.

Lol, OOR students are usually confused when they see dadbod dudes in polos
as the top guys here insteadd of ripped strong jawed guys in tank tops. The south ain't like the movies.

Question 1 during Rush on OR: "How many slaves did your granddaddy own and how closely related are your momma and poppa?"

The fact that this comment got so many down votes , and the replies that criticize UA got soooo many upvotes, shows how many people not fm UA are on here. STOP obsessing over us! You don’t go here and will never fit in. Get over it. We don’t like outsiders, unless you can play football. And if your are a mom or dad then stop being so helicopter and trying to get us to like your kid from Chicago or California. If you do this you are not helping. So many haters because they’ll never be us lol. Must really suck to have to spend all your time on GR reading about something you aren’t.

Actually Lambda Chi is the TOP house there and has been for decades. They have several billionaire alumni and ALL the Hollywood celebs who send their sons to USC join Lambda Chi and a few at Sigma Chi.

It would be hilarious to see members of supposedly “top tier fraternities or sororities” at USC, First of all 99.99% of Alabama Greeks could not afford the $100,000 yearly cost at a private school like USC. 99.99% of Alabama Greeks would have ZERO chance of getting into a top tier fraternity like Sigma Chinor Lambda Chi Alpha or a top tier sorority like Delta Gamma or Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alabama folks just don’t have the money, social status, culture, sophistication or looks to get a bid from a top tier sorority or fraternity, they would be lucky to get into a Bottom house.

Met some Lambda Chi from USC during a national retreat. They had the Chain Smokers for their rush party and regularly drop $500,000 to 1Million for their parties.

80% of most football players are black and most of them don't join frats. maybe 5% of football players are in frats. and those 5% are the white guys who are walk-ons who never see the field but are on a "legacy" scholarship.

which is basically either their dads played football or donated a ton of money. they basically just stand around in practice and help the actual players.

and that's at any big football school, no one joins frats.

while these "bama rich" rednecks might think the are cool and run the school, it's all for show. we all know who runs the school.

Student atheletes are the top of the social hierarchy at SEC schools, especially the football players. Then downwards, it's old row second then new row, and then etc

You are very wrong. At BAMA greeks are at the top of the social hierarchy then football players. Football players flock to sorority girls and fraternity darties.
