If the other girls are wearing rompers, wear a cute dress. If the other girls are wearing wedges, put on stiletto heels. If the other girls have their hair down and casual, have your hair curled in layers. You need to look your best to get a decent bid. If you look basic and blah, say goodbye to old row and accept your mediocre bid.

The OP is handing out bad advice!
Follow the Panhellenic guide in “the best brands you can afford” and if anything “do no harm” with what you wear.
It’s very rare to get selected because your clothes “stood out”.
Much more common is to get down voted for a bad choice and clothes that “stand out”. And usually that means too slu—y, too low cut, over the top and/or too “much”. You walk miles during recruitment and for the most part high heels/stilettos make you look “bad”.
Lily is a good example in the other direction. - it may be that some like it and find it okay, but it’s going to make others think “yech, trying too hard”. I say avoid it unless it’s simple and toned down and not a coloring book piece.
A nice bracelet - Hermès click H or a Yurman - is a nice addition. . Don’t fiddle with it or draw attention to it. A good subtle touch. But don’t fret if you don’t have one.
Look good, put your best foot forward, but color between the lines and keep it appropriate.

Not everyone is a "glammed up" kind of girl. Be your very best, perfected and polished YOU. It's more about looking and feeling confident and being comfortable in your own skin. If you try to be something you aren't just to one-up every other girl, your recruitment will be a complete disaster.

Whatever you wear and however you do your makeup and hair, make sure you look like yourself. If you're a super glam girl who wears heels all the time, go for it. If you're more low key, keep it lower key. Yes, you should blow out/straighten/curl your hair (within whatever you'd normally do), yes you should not have chipped nails, yes you should wear the best version of whatever makeup you typically do. Don't go from mascara and burts bees to full makeup youtuber just for recruitment because you may not find a home with others that are like you.

Perfect. Just be your best self. But be your self. Don't pretend to be somebody else. It hurts you in the long run because you can't and don't want to keep up the facade. It also does not do the house any good if you end up being somebody they were not expecting. Don't let "rank" determine your fit. Every year many top pnms go somewhere "lower" than they could have and, you know what, they live and they are happy and they rock it. Be that girl. Don't be a sheep following the herd.
