best sisterhood on campus?

by: curious

For women currently on campus at UA, what houses are recognized as having the best sisterhood and bonds among their members? Not traditionally ranking, but more based on the internal culture for the sorority!

I don't go to Alabama, I go to a school with smallish Greek life (only 7 sororitys w/ around 70-80 girls per chapter) and I'm just genuinely curious: what is sisterhood like with chapters so big? Even with 74 in my chapter it's impossible to be good friends with that many people so you kinda find a niche within it (which I'm guessing is probably true at Alabama too), but like I know the name and basic story of every one of my sisters like their major, where their from, the things they're into, etc. Is it like that at Alabama or are there girls in other pledge classes of your chapter that you literally never even meet during your time? Sorry if it's weird me and my friends just genuinely wonder how different it is with Greek life as big as Alabama's lol

Tbh I’m a senior and pretty involved in the chapter and maybe personally know like 1/4 of my pc. The other pledge classes? Forget about it. I know a good chunk of names in the pc below mine and that’s about it besides my family and their friends. That part kind of sucks but you find your group just like you would in a smaller chapter. (And to be fair some girls just don’t come around very often so you don’t get to know them anyway.)

I’m a senior in my chapter too and I’m super involved. I think you get out of it what you put into it. I’m super close with my whole pledge class, but I have you get girls that I’m close to as well that I mentor and work alongside. Obviously, I am not BFFs with my entire chapter, but all my best friends are in it! It’s like a little community that made Bama feel like home.

DDD? Hilarious.

I’d say - AOPi, ADPi, DG, XO, AXO, half of PBP and prob SK because they’re new and small.

Sisterhood doesn't come from Greek Letters on a house, it comes from the members. A house can have great sisterhood one year and be horrible the next.

No sorority has had great sisterhood every year! There are a lot of cases of a portion of the house has great sisterhood with each other and many of the remaining members do not.

Tiers don't determine sisterhood. Every chapter has kind and welcoming girls as well as mean girls and cliques.

I’d say it goes mostly like this in most houses...

In a house of 400, groups form - no house has a group me with every member included - LOL. Not even a geoup me with every pledge class. Plans are made, girls eat with and hang out mostly with their friends, some groups as small as two. Large groups maybe 12 or so.

Girls come and go from the groups. The group splits, joins with another group, etc.

I think there may be some houses with more drama between groups. But all houses have some. And agree it changes from year to year. \n\n\n\n\n
