honestly my opinion on old row houses are just that they are southern, it really doesn’t have much to do with anything. Alpha phi and gamma phi are 2 of the oldest houses and are not considered “old row” so really don’t think too much about it they do not stand out any more in sisterhood, philanthropy, or parties than any “new” house.

“Old row” isn’t in reference to how old a house actually is (and even if it was it would be chapter age, not national age). It’s in reference to a certain geographical area that those fraternity houses used to occupy. As for sororities it means nothing other than they were the chapters the guys wanted to include when they invited girls in.

As for the southern thing you’re technically right, but even if KD for example decided to take 100% girls from Washington state next year they’d still be “old row”

If you think winning greek week is going to make or break your greek life experience you got some serious insecurity issues to deal with.

Literally no one cares about Greek week it’s just something the Greek community has to participate in so it doesn’t seem like all Greek life is is parties lol

OR houses barely showed up to greek week... don’t think i saw KD but once, DDD only showed up to some events, most other ORs had a limited number of supporters while NR had tons. not saying greek week matters, but it is about having pride in your sorority and supporting them.

OR houses are much less involved. In comparison to most old row the typical new row girl is much more involved on campus

Yes because Greek Week is the epitome of being involved

I’m in an OR house and while I agree we should try a little more for Greek week, there are SO many other ways to be involved on campus. I wish we put more effort in, but at the same time some houses are so petty about it I’d rather not get involved in that.

At least it’s not as bad as derby days
