Yes wish I had known this when I rushed!!! At the time I thought having a private account was a good thing but now I know it’s better to go public at least over the summer. If we don’t have any info on you and your profiles are locked down it’s really hard to get a read and you can slip through

I wouldn't follow a sister unless she follows you first or you meet her in person (like at University Days). You can follow houses though, that's fine. And clean up your insta before making it public... a bad first impression is hard to overcome, especially if you're from out of state and don't know anyone.

Honestly, it depends on the house. Houses that are not as sought after are more likely to have members that will be a little flattered and intrigued with random follows. The houses that are more sought after (old row, pbp, adpi, zta) are more likely to take your reach out as somewhat awkward and they are a risk to write you off as a try-hard.
