board, they're not.

They are very selective and able to choose the best guys. They also throw the best parties. The two also hang out together which makes them a lot more fun to hang out with from the girls perspective. They are Old Row and actually have old rituals. They keep those rituals and other stuff secret unlike others. Better looking guys and provide alcohol!! and also you are not a "pledge" if you just got and "invitation" they send those to a lot of kids, you are a rushee. At this point though I would look towards other houses if I were you

For the most part, the coolest guys from mountain brook, vestavia, mobile, montgomery, atlanta, new orleans, nashville and a few other cities around the south all go DKE and SAE. Its not hard to understand. There are some guys who slip through the cracks but if either of those two want them, they are theirs.

They arent... They are the montgomery/birmingham social club(SAE) and Mobile social club(DKE)... Sorry but high school all over again doesnt sound to fun to me. The OOS talent that is going to the good new row houses is superior to the "cool" Alabama kids that go to DKE and SAE. They only get the rep they have because of tradition but thats it.

DKE has had the most power and influence on campus since before the war (if someone needs to ask which war then maybe they should think again if UA is right for them ). They basically run this school ...and beyond too. It's pretty much the same with SAE too. If you received a bid from both then I'm surprised you disclosed that on here and I'm surprised you would even have to ask why they are "considered so much better". I really hope you are being sincere with your question but If not, and you are only trying to cause controversy, then please be a gentleman instead. If you are being honest about your question, then don't worry about it because they are both awesome and you will be happy with either house!

considering that all the best out state kids are old row, that makes no sense.... Memphis/Nashville is phi gam, Atlanta/New orleans is DKE, Atlanta/Charlotte/Chattanooga is SAE. You are lying to yourself if you think that new row gets all the out of state kids.

An invitation from DKE and SAE? you must cool as hell considering the fact you probably emailed the rush chairmen and thats the only reason you are on the rush list.

I'm in a Top 5 New row Fraternity (OX, SX, DX, Pike, Pi kapp), wont specify which but I'm telling you right now I would not want to be either a DKE or SAE over what I am now... The old row supporters that are saying that DKE and SAE get the best out of state is simply not true... Tbh, a lot of the best out of state kids dont even have the opportunity to make it down to rush events in the early-middle summer when these houses give 9/10 of there bids... As well, just think about it, if 30 pledges from SAE and DKE are from Alabama, I find it hard to believe that the 10-15 out of state kids that pledge DKE and SAE are better than the top 15 out of state pledges from the top new row fraternities... And the fact that the good, mostly out of state, New Row fraternities are kicking most of old rows ass right now shows the quality of a lot of the in state pledges that pledge old row or should I say legacies... DKE and SAE aren't going to take every single good Alabama rushee away from the other fraternities... the other old rows will get there due amount of the good instaters along with the top of new row...
