Phi Mu and the other top houses (they are not the only one) take a TON of OOS. The other highly considered houses that take OOS in good numbers are DDD, KKG, AXO. But seriously if you are to have a chance, you definitely need to be on their radar by the time summer hits. I know of a few girls there that claim they were totally unknown and unknowable to Phi Mu (and other top houses) but still ended up with bids and pledged them. I think this can happen, and I believe the girls that tell me this, but it is exceedingly rare. These girls are all really cute, stylish, chill and really great grades and resume. So they just were able to stand out anyway.

If you want to get on a radar, you need to find some connection such as they have somebody from your school in the house, you have an awesome alum that will contact them specifically about you (not just write a rec) or something like that. The recruitment team will low key check you out and you may just find yourself on their radar as somebody they are optimistic about meeting.
