aphi 170 nm

by:

So alpha phi needed to get a 3.0 this semester to not go on probation so could that explain how they have 170 new members? Seriously they also only have 202 active members that weren’t new members. They had way more than that at the start of the year. Something is going on because this makes no sense at all

Rumor has it, some houses have put members with expected lower grades on “inactive” status prior to the semester end. Then, 2 weeks later put them back on “active” status. Gaming the system to make sure the active member GPA stays up.

Look at the number of actives in AXO on their report. Unless they have a house of 700, their numbers support their high grades. They have a good test bank and grades are demanded of their girls.

It would reeeeeally surprise me if this was happening. I’m in a house on the higher end of the report and we don’t even have inactive status, you’re either an active or an alum. It’s not really that hard to believe that a house with a 99% return rate could recruit a pc of girls with 4.0s every year.

Yeah I don’t know about your chapters...but mine you can’t just “go inactive”. You’re either resigning membership, going early alumni(which is a PAIN in the ass to get approved for) or you’re in the chapter.

I’ve heard that rumor with Sig Ep but I never heard any sororities using it. And, I’m surprised all these girls saying their sororities don’t allow for inactive status. Inactive in my sorority means you pay a lower rate and you don’t get food or any social events or any voting power. It lasts for the entire semester. How do you do internships/ co-ops or semester abroads? You have to entirely drop your house or pay 100% for stuff you won’t ever use? That seems like bad business. Some money with inactive sounds better than low retention rates and no money with members dropping.

My house has “special status” for co ops, study abroad, etc but you have to have a legitimate reason (basically you have to be out of town). And there’d be no way for us to put girls on it to avoid their GPA counting.

The thinking is if we had a voluntary inactive status, a majority of the chapter would be on it but would still be eating at the house, going to date parties, etc because it’s just too hard to keep track of who’s paying for what with 400 members. Although all chapters of my sorority do the same so I’m sure there’s a benefit for smaller chapters as well.

Do Is alpha chi bribing the admin and faculty to be on the Presidents’ list and earn those red caps? That’s how you get them and they have the most on the list. Get over this- why would you not question any of the other chapters with top grades?

I’m not for tearing down any chapter here.

Pay attention to your own organization and let other's worry about their group. You know nothing about the inner workings of any other organization. Even if you are friends with a couple of girls in a chapter...most of them don't even know the full inside story. Let's not tear people down. Come on, grow up. You do you. Also, "Rumor has it" is never a good way to start a sentence.
