I’m impressed by all. Where were DG and Kappa last spring? They seem to have made a move.

I am also struck by how big axo and xo are compared to other houses. Are they retaining more members? What’s the deal ?

I know about our house and it’s retention. We are OR and we had a lot of girls graduate last year. But, our house had gotten too big and keeping our numbers manageable makes for a better experience for everyone. It’s nice being under 450 members.

Houses don’t choose their numbers. They are given quota. The big houses all have about the same quota- so you can see which are retaining upperclassmen
more than others.

If you look at the last three years both Kappa and DG’s new members gpa has gone up significantly every year. This year DG’s new member gpa was the 4th highest with a 3.59 which is so much higher than they have ever been and Kappa’s new members had a 3.52. Alpha Gams new members had a 3.78 which is easily the highest new member gpa ever. AXO new members had a 3.69 and XO had a 3.61. KD was 5th with an all time high of 3.57 so kudos to them for a great rush. Every year The University attracts smarter and smarter students and some sororities are really taking advantage of that.
With so many hard working students coming here now our Greek life just keeps getting better and better and it has benefitted all the houses.

Why are y'all bragging over a 3.5 average?

If you can't get a 3.5 at alabama you must be brain dead.

That is a 3.5 average for over 450 people. That is good (note to the poster above). RTR! Over 60% of students at the University of Alabama are now OSS and over 40% have a 30 or above on their ACT. Close to 35% are now in the Honors College. Again RTR!
