family income

by:

So some of the frats are hung up on whether or not you're wealthy so how do chapters know of I'm rich. Like do they just look and decide on their own or do they want my freaking parents income tax returns haha

No one really cares all that much in most of the fraternities. If you want to join one that you feel does judge based on wealth rather than character then it isn't a fraternity you want to be a part of.

We mostly look at what town you're from. If you're from an affluent suburb of a large city then that is usually an indicator that you're well off.

If that doesn't give it away then we look into what high school you went to. If you were privately educated then that usually says something.

Oh alright well at least you don't go on the appraiser's website to find when my house was made cuz that would be just too weird.

We go to your county tax assessor's web site and look at how much they valued your house and how much tax you paid. And we google map your neighborhood.
It's all public information.

We don't have to go to your house. We can find that all on a computer.

all this website. Is it because Alabama has a strong Greek system? Where is this fixation coming from?

Sounds like a very shallow system, if you ask me.

It is a shallow system. It's the South and we care about things that don't matter to the rest of the world.

It's UA. If you grew up in a double-wide your're rich. If single-wide, not so much

And no. They look to see what your parents do and where you live. It might be weird, but fraternities want to make sure they're extending one of their bids and their brotherhood to someone who isn't going to bail bc he can't handle the costs associated with membership

So go on the country appraiser's website then check my parent's LinkedIn profile. You guys are cute.

about fraternities, but sorority resumes usually have your parents info (including what their job is and contact info). Seriously, if you can't handle some guys making sure you aren't going to screw them over by giving you a bid and you can't front the money required, you don't deserve to join their brotherhood.
