Is it a thing bad being from OOS, like why do more sororities prefer in state

Because they know them and know what the reputation and personality are like. It’s less of a risk to take a girl they can vouch for than take a chance on someone who may be a QR or leave after a semester because she’s homesick. Also it’s a lot easier to cut a random girl than someone girls in the house know personally and are fighting for.
That being said, in the past few years a lot of tradiationally instate houses have realized that not given solid OOS girls a chance means they will end up with a lot of mediocre instate girls instead.

How on earth is my comment a troll comment? It’s true and the reason why (especially in the past) a LOT of amazing OOS girls were overlooked by “top” houses. A girl you don’t know is much more of a risk than a girl you’ve known for years, but that doesn’t mean the girl no one knows isn’t amazing and houses have started to pay more attention
