confused about preffing

There will be only two prefs from now on. The bids are matched by computer: the computer starts with a house's bid list and tries to match the pnm's who also ranked that house first. If your first choice house matches with you before they reach quota then you will get a bid to that house. But if that house reaches quota before they match with you, the computer will then try to match you with your second choice. Same deal, if you match with them before they reach quota you will get a bid to that house. But if they reach quota before they match with you, then you will be a Quota Addition. That means that you will get a bid, and the computer will try to match you to your first choice house, but might have to match you with your second choice depending on the houses' total membership numbers. If you rank both houses you will get a bid. If you SIP, or suicide, meaning only rank one of the houses, and you are not matched to your only choice, then you will go without a bid at all. If you only go to one pref and put that house on your card you will get that bid.
