fall recruitment for panhellenic
by: Mixed RaceI have been reading on here that Pi Phi, Kappa, and Alpha Chi are open to pledging some minority women next fall. I hadn't thought of going through recruitment because I didn't think I had a chance at a bid because I'm part white, part black, and part Cherokee. Do you all think it's worth going through? I definitely fit in with my white friends at school and have appropriate clothes, car, etc. (my dad's a surgeon and my mom's a lawyer.) What kind of chance do you think I have?

That'll be good. Since the membership chooses the members, they'll be quite surprised when told that it's all been done for them.

I hope that's not the typical response. I hope you know some girls in houses already. That will help. I'd agree that if you're out of state you'll get less of a chance.

It is shameful, but Alabamians are so backward that they don't even perceive it as shameful. I love my state, but really, y'all. In the 21st century everybody else in the nation has it figured out but you. Look at the brouhaha over Paula Deen using the N word once 20 years ago. You regularly see it in posts on this site. Do you really think that's what Southern culture demands? Well it's not!
