Obviously there are a given amount of girls who graduate early and a couple who drop, it’s pretty obvious which houses have issues that go beyond just the normal amount of girls you lose each semester
#51 by: Some desperate arguments
No matter how some on here try to defend numbers and say drops happen, the bald truth that can not be hidden is that some houses at the top of the list kept most of their members and then some at the bottom lost a surprisingly high number of members. We are not idiots. we can figure out from this simple list that there must be reasons why some houses keep their members and why some have them leaving in large numbers.
Also, its not just "somebody" bumping this info, it is a lot of people, because this is the only thread with factual info.

some anti-Alpha Phi nutter is bumping this thread. 4:32am? Really?
pnms - You will know. Trust your own instincts. There are too many insecure alums posting on this site. There are some groups that have their best chapter at bama and they constantly bash the big nationally strong houses in an effort to hold onto the prominence of their star chapter. If you are going to live anywhere else besides Alabama be sure to give Kappa, Alpha Phi, Theta, Pi Phi a fair chance - among others - but especially these.
Truth.

SDA, Are you only capable of thinking one dimensional? Yes, the numbers are factual but there are many, many reasons girls leave a chapter. Let's look at the some of the possible reasons girls drop. As noted in a previous post girls graduate...some semesters have more than others and we can safely assume more graduate in the spring, but on occasion there is a larger than normal group that graduates in the fall. Also, let's acknowledge that EVERY house has drama...some girls get enough and leave. Let's go ahead and also acknowledge that some girls drop; some drop for financial reasons, some drop for personal reasons. Then we have the standards issues...some girls are removed from a chapter and some girls remove themselves because they don't want to live by the rules of the sorority. Now let's go back and talk about the "financial and personal reasons". There are actives who are paying for sorority life themselves and the financial burden is more than they expected and/or more than their enjoyment. There are those whose parents work situation has changed or their marital status has changed and they can no longer assist with the actives finances. There are those girls that have a parent or sibling that is terminally ill and they stay home for a semester or two. There are those actives that are experiencing health problems themselves and they are inactive. Over 50% of UA's students are from out of state and some go home because they are homesick...others lose their scholarship. There are girls that change their majors and need to transfer to a different school. There are girls who didn't get in UA's nursing program and apply elsewhere. These are just a few of the reasons girls leave a chapter. Some girls leave because they don't love their sorority and others leave with tears in their eyes and a huge hole in their heart. You, nor I, will ever know how many girls fit in each of these categories.
So, while the numbers are factual you can't state with certainty why each of these chapters lost the number of actives that they did...it is all conjecture. \n\n\n\n\n
