Obviously there are a given amount of girls who graduate early and a couple who drop, it’s pretty obvious which houses have issues that go beyond just the normal amount of girls you lose each semester

I'm going to,throw some water and reality on the logic of this.

It's not that high retention isn't admirable, but here the reality:

1. It does NOT result in lower dues. Look at he numbers and some of the most expensive houses have the highest retention rates. This factor - retention versus costs - seems to actually be more reversed that related.

2. There are 375 plus girls in the houses. Honesty, you will have a very close frienship with a handful. Let's say five. That core group will have ties to two or three other groups. And you will have a large social, connection to maybe 50 girls. You will know your entire pledge class by name. There will some girls you don't even know who are more than a year different than you.

Point is - drops and retention don't really upset this. Your close friend drops junior or senior year, you'll still be friends. A group decides to rent a house and that the meals aren't worth the expense, they may drop the house, but remain close to each other and their other close friends. Many will still have the ties to some in the house. Etc.

Yes, it may be a big deal to some who want to return to Alabama town X who still have to see their friends who stayed in the house at Church, and thus face some shame.

But for many, this isn't a measure of enjoyment or lack of enjoyment of the experience while you were there.

It's simply a measure of who wants to continue with the house, eating meals there, paying the dues and finding Greek life and events worth it as juniors and seniors.

Nothing wrong with that, but not necessarily a measure of happiness. \n\n\n\n\n

This isn’t very important! So what a few houses lost more girls than normal. Being a one time thing isn’t going to change their entire rush. If it happened every year it would be a different story. Someone is way too hung up on this.

There is NOT Pne person at Bama who would rate houses anything like this list.

This is a list of how many girls left each house, and nothing else.

True, But there is a difference in a house where very few members leave and a lot of members leave. PNMs should be aware.

On the other hand, with so many spots to fill, probably a lot fewer releases.

IS loosing 30ish or more normal? How is this not a sign of something being off when the best numbers are in the teens? Like how can an ADPi be known for a no drama sisterhood on greekrank but lose 90 members in a year. How can a kd or xo say they are better than AXO or AGD but lose like twice as many actives during the year to drops?

A lot of what houses are "known for" is what they were like many years ago. People on this site keep perpetuating the old stereotypes. Then girls fall for it, pledge a house that they think they will like, then drop out when it turns out the house isn't at all like that anymore.

PNMs that want a real sorority experience will look at this drop out rate and be forewarned going in that if their expectations are unrealistic they're not going to be happy.
