bids

by:

So bids are given out in late spring/summer, which doesnt seem like a whole lot of time to get to know guys in a lot of the fraternities. Is it better to go ahead and except a bid or is it better to go meet other fraternities and explore options? I have a very good idea of where I want to be, but if they bid me should I jump on it or be hesitate?

While it is ideal to meet as many fraternities as possible so that you can find the one right for you, you don't want to pass up an opportunity to join a house you really like simply because you want to shop around some more.

Freshie, you don't "except" a bid, you "accept" one. If it is the house that you want to be at, grab it. If you want to keep looking, go ahead. Just make sure they are still interested in you if you come back later. Houses here do not like being "plan B."
