black dude going through rush

So I'm black, from Bama and going to rush this upcoming fall. How big of an issue will race be? I know a few fraternity members and people have really said it'll be minimized but there are constantly stories about sorority recruitment...

Might want to look into fraternities such as Sigma Tau Gamma and other smaller ones. That will probably be your best shot. Goodluck.

Oh yeah probably should have mentioned that the guys I do know are in what people here seem to consider top tier houses on new row. Should I just look into rushing those or focus on new houses? I'm really wondering more about my possibilities in houses where I don't know anyone

Sorry man, but you're never going to get a bid from an IFC fraternity with a house. That's just the way it is. It'd be against tradition. We do, however, have a few of the Divine Nine. You should definitely consider rushing one of them. Good luck!

Don’t let these losers talk you out of rushing a
white fraternity. The odds are high everything will be fine!
Most advisors have been hoping you would rush and be a part of their group. Remember that.

Why would you want to rush an organization that’s going to judge you based on your skin color? Seems like the frats at Alabama are dripping with old white man racism
