question about phi gam

Why is phi gam not called Fiji at UA? Also, why don't they put letters on anything? Is there a story behind this

tons of people call them fiji, pretty much everyone except for them. I wouldnt recommend becoming a brother like the other guy said. They are pretty irrelevant compared to the rest of old row, although i would rather be a fiji than new row

a Sigma Nu. Y'all are no more relevant than Phi Gam and Phi Delt is a damn sight behind both. There are five new row houses that are all better than half of old row and pretty comparable to SAE and KA, so to say joining Phi Gam is better than joining any new row is stupid.

Everyone calls them Fiji besides them? That is dead wrong, maybe the GDIs that know a little about greek life call them Fiji but everyone I know call them Phi Gams, and I'm in a new row house.

Don't ever call them FIJI, it's an insult to call them that. I agree with the guy above on there are New Row houses that can show up them and a couple of other old row houses but still, if you go here you gotta respect their tradition

Phi Gam aren't quite what they once were, but they are the second oldest house and they should at least get the respect of being called by the proper name.

Not sure the exact reason they dont put their letters on tshirts and stuff, but i know thats a nationwide thing their fraternity does. They never actually put their greek letters on things like that. To each his own.

I think that's part of why they have the Fiji nickname since you don't see their letters just walking around campus, and it gives them something they can put on their t-shirts. Their letters are considered sacred or something so they don't put them on easily destroyed items.

Multiple reasons. One of the first houses on campus here, they consider their letters sacred, etc
