hows adx

How's Alpha Delta Chi? I know they are a small christian sorority with no house, but they really seem involved in philantropic/school events and seem really nice girls. Does anyone know anything about them? Is it hard to get in? I don't care if they are not a top tier sorority... I just want to be in a place where I feel happy, comfortable and where I can be myself.

They're pretty strict when it comes to the Christian aspect -- you have to submit a statement of faith, be active in a church/campus fellowship, abstain from drinking, etc.

I am in ADX & love it! I am in ADX at the university of alabama. We are a group of Christian girls walking through life together, and we also have a great social side too! Don't believe all the things you read on here such as hypocrites, or no rock n' roll haha. Come check us out! :)

I have a friend who was in ADX here and she loved it. She was also a lot of fun!!! So it's true, these girls have fun and have a great sisterhood too.

All the frats want to swap with them, because the girls won't drink their beer or booze and the guys can keep it all to themselves.

We've had a lot of problems with frats about that. The guys don't understand that there can't be any alcohol at our swaps. But y'all can drink all you want before and after. If you're in a fraternity and want to have a shindig with us, let us know! Just because we don't drink at our functions doesn't mean we won't be fun. A couple hours w/o alcohol might be good for ya ;)

I'm in ADChi and LOVE IT! We try our best to be involved with the rest of the Greeks, just in a more layed back, morally proper way I guess. lol We have swaps (with no alcohol and usually with smaller frats because we're such a small sorority and don't want to be super outnumbered by guys), and Philanthropy, etc. And about the hypocrite comment: I'll admit we're all not PERFECT but who is!? We're still in college and sometimes a girl can get caught up in the wrong thing. But I can assure we had to earn our spot in ADX by showing that we try our best to be lights on campus. We know how to have fun and stay grounded at the same time. Get to know us before you judge us! :)

I think ADX is a great house on campus for girls who are into the Evangelical thing. Seems like they have a lot of fun and are very sisterly.

I can only say that I struggle with them calling themsves a Christian sorority. So thankful Jesus doesn't make us go through rush. How can they reject fellow Christians based on a couple hours of fellowship? Doesn't seem very Christlike to me.

I am in ADX and love it! I will be the first to admit that we are not perfect, but we do love the Lord and try to be lights on campus. Our rush process is very accepting; however, we do have 13 membership requirements that we take very seriously and we look for girls that exemplify all 13 of those requirements. We are a very small group which makes it easier to get to know each girl who comes through rush. We try to get to know every girl as well as possible during our rush week and try not to judge. And just because someone might not be in the sorority, we would still love to be friends with them outside of the sorority. :)

I heard from a friend of mine who's an ADChi that this year they had more PNMs then they could handle and really had to make sure that girls fit the sorority. Also based on what I've heard about their rush process they do actually get to know the girls rushing and they place an emphasis on a letter that each girl writes about her self

I agree....how can you say we're Christian, we don't want you in our group, but want to be your friend?? Really not showing the love there.....and as far as the letter that has to be written, Don't actions speak louder than words? A girl can make herself anything she wants to be in a letter SHE writes. Maybe they should re-evaluate their rush process....Really get to know girls before deciding they don't fit or are not "Christian"enough for their group.

This girls are real Christians but to exclude people because they may be less devout is totally missing the point of Christian fellowship imo. Fairly common, unfortunately. Examine the plank in your own eye ladies. Remember we are all sinners.

okay if girls clearly don't live up to your values or beliefs as a chapter, that's fine, and you should cut them. That's how my chapter (NPC) does it, and I don't have a problem with it.
What I have a problem with is this group thinking or acting like they're the same as every other sorority on campus. it's a joke that they and SDT are in greek chic when they don't participate in formal recruitment. ADChi isn't operated by the NPC, so they don't have the same guidelines we do. And just listening to the way they talk on here, you can tell if you'd fit in with them or not. like "no rock n' roll" or "shindig", or the number of comments on here that start with "I'm in ADX and I love it!!!" if that's the kind of group you can fit in with, that's great, more power to you, but don't act like they're the same as the girls on the row.

Almost every ADChi I've met is very similar in personality and looks to most other sorority girls. They aren't like the sister wives type or condemning type either. They are definitely different but all of the ones I know are pretty, nice, smart, involved girls, with really out going personalities. It's also kinda cruel to call them a joke just because they are Christian.

Idk what is going on here about comments about our rush process because it's simply very untrue. Only our executive board reads that letter, no one else in the active body knows what is written in it unless there is a clear issue. Our rush process lasts 5 days with multiple chances to get to know each pledge on an individual level. We have each girl set up with a driver and an interview so that at least 3 actives have had an in-depth conversation with them. The MAJORITY of the time most girls that rush get a bid. There have been exceptions of course but as a sorority, we still have to judge whether or not someone is a right fit for us just as every other sorority does.
