phi kappa sigma

by:

What happened to Phi Kappa Sigma? Are they still respectable? My uncle is the only member of my family to go to UA and he was a member of Kappa Sig and I was considering following in his footsteps but it seems like Kappa Sig isn't very respected now and doesn't have much pull on campus. Is this true and if so, what happened to them?

are all national groups it's not like any of them are just at Bama and Kappa Sig is one of the largest national fraternities and Phi Kappa Sigma is relatively small. Phi Kappa Sigma and Kappa Sigma are both fraternities here, Kappa Sig is probably the better choice, they are an affiliated house, although they are one of the weaker Machine houses.

exactly are these "Machine" houses I keep hearing about? What does it mean to be a weak "Machine" house?

a weak Machine house is still better than most of the non-Machine houses, but Kappa Sig is not one of the Machine houses with a lot of influence.

The Machine is a select coalition of all white Fraternities and Sororities designed to influence campus politics.

The Crimson White??

Go somewhere else and stir it up douche.
I'd recommend Auburn or Ol'Miss

Yes, I believe it may have been from the Crimson White. The quote was then used for a Theta Nu Epsilon t shirt that was all the rage among the Machine houses. Surprised y'all aren't aware of that one.

it was from that really big article written on the Machine in the early 90s. Believe it was in a professional publication.

And Unless y'all want to end up on 60 Minutes where they will make us look like ignorant hicks, my suggestion is to STFU and let the troller get his quotes elsewhere

Kappa Sig is pretty bad at Bama now, they lost their charter a couple years back because some girl couldn't hold her liquor at some party and had to be hospitalized or something.. The thing is they are still better than Phi Sig, a lot better than Phi Sig.. Last year Phi Sig lived at the frat in the box across from DTD and now they are renting Sig Eps house on University.

Phi Sig is Phi Sigma Kappa, Phi Kappa Sigma (sometimes called Phi Kapp or skulls I think) is a different fraternity. I'm pretty sure both are on campus, but neither is really strong or an affiliated house (although I think Phi Kappa Sigma may have been the last house originally on old row). Not that important, but I thought I'd point out you were referring to a different house. Kappa Sig isn't great themselves but at least they're an affiliated house and there are certainly worse choices (still toward the bottom of that group though).

Phi Sigma Kappa, Phi Kappa Sigma - they're almost identical. Losers, all.
