all sororities
by: freshman rushcan someone please post one or two sentences about each sorority's reputation? basically just what they're known for, whether it be gpa, partying, philanthropy etc..just get straight to what each sorority is known for around campus. I just want a general idea of what they are like. I'm not trying to start drama, just looking for some advice and honest input! THANKS Y'ALL!!

Tri Delta, Kappa Delta and Alpha Gam = First Circle. The status of First Circle sororities is equivalent to that of Old Row Frats. Girls in these sororities are typically from very southern, old money families. This is not simply apparent in material items but in behavior as well. Although these girls know how to have fun, at the end if the day they are very aware of manners, etiquette, and the expectations of a southern belle. It is imperative for you to have letters of rec, strong manners and act very sweet when rushing these sororities. Your behavior and genuine southern charm are a must for bids from First Circle chapters. For example, if you get a bid for DDD you will not just be interacting with your current sisters, but sisters who are alums as well. The very well connected alums of DDD are a major perk for being in this sorority. This is a major factor as to why the sorority has a full time house staff and new $15 mill house. KD is much like DDD and has many cute girls too. AGD may not "overall" be as cute as DDD or KD, but they are definitely very traditional and influential....Also a great sorority to join! Good luck with rush! Remember, that you will end up where you are meant to be!

No one with true Southern manners would act as if KKG, Chi O and AXO don’t exist.. I love Tri Delt, and AGD are super sweet too, and there’s no denying the Southerness of KD, but the poster asked for 2 sentences about each house, and you go on and on about Tri Delta as if they graduated top of their class at etiquette school, not sorority girls in college.
You are kinda detached from current reality.

All First Circle means is that they were physically located together on a Cul de Sac. Sorority row was comprised of three cul-de-sacs and the first one built was where KD, the old AGD and old DDD houses use to reside. So, yes, kind of lame, lol. (Found this by Googling it.)

Every house has plenty of party girls, plenty of grades-focused girls and plenty of mean girls. Based on reputation on campus you can group them this way (alphabetical order):
Most respected: AGD, AXO, DDD, KD, KKG, PM, XO
Great reputation, but not top: ADPi, PBP
Clean reputation: AOPi, DG, DZ
Needs improvement: APhi, GPB, SK, ZTA

KD is not the MOST respected house. KD is great, but the KD alums who get on here and bash AXO, KKG and NR on here on a daily basis make you lose face with most houses a little bit each day...

phi mu - money and the girls that like sparkles
zeta - clout driven, think 2014 youtube travel vlogs — maybe it’s just the real but they give off coastal vibes
alpha phi - they’ve had some issues in the past that went viral, but that does not define the girls in aphi. they’ve had issues with rushing conventionally pretty and wealthy girls and they like to party. sisterhood is okay and their date party’s kinda suck and their gpa is below a 3.0 — the typical college girl sorority
alpha gam - terrible sisterhood, most girls that rush agd are legacies — if that’s not you i recommend staying away
kkg - split into 2 groups: northerners and southern legacies. the northern kkgs love to party and the legacies are agd vibes and are condescending to their northern girls
dg - kinda have been irrelevant the past few years, no drama kinda crowd but i honestly wouldn’t know because i’ve genuinely never met a dg
dz - fun girls, like to party, but have internal drama
pi phi - youtube makeup gurus kinda vibe
gamma phi - fun and prob the most genuine group on the row — they’re really a mixed bag
adpi - same as gamma phi
sigma kappa - new so no knowledge of reputation because each year it’s different. once they get a real house it will be more defined.
theta - so so so sorry to say this but thicker girls. they have a really nice house tho so that reputation will probably change in the next 5 years
chi o - grades. boring
axo - grades. boring

At the moment we have 2 houses with major sisterhood issues: AGD and Aphi. While Aphi has been struggling for years , AGD issues are kind of news here on GR. Will be interesting to see how those houses will cover up their issues during recruitment.

agd doesn't have sisterhood issues. one active got kicked out and even she says she loves and respects 99% of her sisters. says so on her last TT. you are pumping up aphi but they kicked out like 80 actives about 4 yrs ago and a bunch more quit, had a major racial incident, and are still always needing members and on the cob list. you must be an aphi haha

Let’s be serious.
Outside the bubble of Tuscaloosa “Alabama Sorority Girl” - despite the house - are going to be more similar than not.
Distinctions are going to be as varied between the girls in any house as between houses.
The differences that get obsessed over here are like categorizing your grains of rice. \n\n\n\n\n

Alpha Chi, Chi O, and Phi Mu are very selective, but in a different way. While all three definitely have wealthy girls, they're not hung up on "pedigree," zip code, and how old your money is to the same degree that KD, Kappa, Tri Delt, and Alpha Gam are.
