Alpha O just sounds ratchet. AOPi rhymes with "cutie pie" so it sounds more adorable.

I'm from the North and I've literally never heard of AOII calling themselves 'Alpha O'. It sounds like they're trying to copy Alpha Chi.

I'm from the north and my sister is an AOPi in the midwest. I have literally never heard anyone say "Alpha O." It just feels like it's missing a word.

Alpha Omicron Pi at Alabama is now being stalked on greekrank by the anti-aopi bashing women who hates their sorority and has a burning desire to upend their existence thru anti-aopi posts all over greekrank. She chooses to post against their Alabama chapter this summer because AOPi will take the incoming (Fall 2017) NPC Presidency, a woman named Carole Jones who graduated from Alabama and was past president of the AOPi Alabama chapter. So look forward, ladies and gentlemen, to more Alabama anti-aopi bashing from the woman who feels a burning enragement against everything AOPi.

I genuinely do not think AOPi is being bashed right now, at least not more than ANY OTHER sorority on GR. No one feels "burning enragement against everything AOPi." We are chuckling at their new nickname and rolling our eyes at their obvious self-promos (every house does it, they've just been heavy-handed lately.) That is VERY different from whatever the hell you're on about.

This is confusing. We have tremendous support on campus and from our Panhellenic sisters. We are proud of our sisters and our chapter and the success of our chapter. Carol Jones is the NPC president and past president of AOII at the University of Alabama. She is incredible, and we are so fortunate to have her leadership. We have enjoyed phenomenal growth nationally and internationally under her leadership and with her vision for our wonderful sorority that has stayed true to our roots while creating an updated brand for a new generation of sisters. #inspireambition #alam #homicron #alphao #aopi #alphaomicronpi #ggao #aopalace

It's kind of weird that they're trying to rebrand as Alpha O, but it's definitely a thing in other places. My cousin is in Alpha Phi at Michigan St. and they just call it "Phi" there. They're really popular up in Michigan so maybe AOPi has more popular chapters that call themselves Alpha O and that's why they're trying to rebrand? Not sure. Does anyone know where AOPi is a top house?

They have strong chapters at Georgia and Florida. My boyfriend is from the Baltimore area and says they're undisputed #1 at Towson, which is a big school but not super name-brand in itself.
AOPi seems to really struggle nationally with being middle/lower tier. I blame their nationals.

AOII has had a recent great 3 years of rush at Bama, and the new national president has helped tremendously! They needed to rebrand, update their image, work on their logo, and address long-term plans. They have a much needed new brand along with their great foundation, beautiful houses, and wonderful girls. They are back on the rise. Congrats AOII, Alpha O, and AOPI!
