"Greek letter organizations first appeared at the university in 1847 when two men visiting from Yale University installed a chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon. When DKE members began holding secret meetings in the old state capitol building that year, the administration strongly voiced its disapproval." no one should ever say anything bad about them considering they began greek life in Alabama

They do a lot for UA and the city of Tuscaloosa. (tornado relief) Sometimes they appear not as social as other chapters, because they tend to only associate with their own. However, they are just very loyal to their fraternity brothers and girlfriends. Most are also more mature and more traditional than other UA men.

DKE is very good on campus but if you're not Old Row, don't expect to be taken seriously by these guys. They care too much about "status". If you want to be top dog but a total douche bag, Pledge DKE.

This is pure, unabashed nepotism and selective breeding at it's finest. A house full of private-school-brats from Mobile. Just my opinion.
