advice for freshmen thinking of rushing

Don't base your opinions of houses based off whatever you read on greekrank. You have a full semester to get to know some people and while we aren't allowed "dirty rush," aka to try to convince you into joining our house and invite you over, etc., we do take note of who we see out a lot, who seems fun and friendly and would be a good fit for our house. And the same goes for you: your observations of which girls seem cool when you're out and what houses they're in can help you form your own opinions. Even if they're only based off a few people per house, they're better than strangers telling you what to think on an online forum.

I'm a junior now, but I'm in the house I'm in because of a girl I started talking to in line for the bathroom during my freshman oweek. We saw each other out a lot first semester, ended up being friends, and she ended up being my big and told me she fought for me to get a bid during rush. So although your oweek goal might be to talk to older cute frat boys and make friends with other freshman girls, don't forget us old ladies ;)
