sorority rush

Am I the only person who thinks the way sorority recruitment is completely ridiculous compared to fraternity rush? Why does it have to be this extremely formal and regimented thing for girls, with off-limits topics and the like, when frats can get their potential members smashed and are way more upfront about the personality of the house? I don't think it benefits anyone to have the process be so fake. If the house wants you to have money, they should say so. If they're going to want to regulate your dress or makeup, they should say so. If the girls go out a ton or hardly at all, they should be able to say so. It would also be so much more fair to PNMs because they would have an honest idea of what a house is like. It's just frustrating.
