because true

by: well

First off, houses are full of girls who never thought they would join a sorority, so be open minded to the Greek system.
Going off the open-mindedness, seriously please try to leave all the preconceived notions aside. Joining a sorority is not about whom you mix with (that doesn’t even really matter after sophomore year anyway), it is truly about having a community within Cornell. Cornell becomes so much smaller as Greek life exposes you to people you most likely never would have met otherwise. Joining a sorority gives you about 200 girls who have your back through it all, and provides an opportunity to make some amazing friends. It allows you to try new things and gives you opportunities to grow in various leadership roles.

Be opened minded but you will see that some houses are more popular than others (cough, cough, core 4, cough).

If you are more concerned with niceness and not status, wealth or looks, you will find a better fit. If the status, looks, etc are your priority, than be prepared for some heartbreak, as too many girls are vying for core 4.
