top tier sorority rushing

by:

is rushing as tiring and demanding as it sounds? i'm interested, but none of my friends are and i don't know if i want to go it alone. as well, how do different houses (top, middle, etc tier) determine whether they want you. it seems like a lot of judgment is given based on looks/wealth. will a sorority completely disregard you simply because of one of these things?

To be truly honest, yes, rush is tiring and demanding. Everyone was so exhausted and I used my lunch breaks for naps. It's five days of waking up early, dressing up, and talking to people nonstop till the afternoon.
Is it worth it? yes. yes yes yes. Getting your bid card in the end, going to bid night, being pampered like a total queen by your big for a whole week, making 40-50 friends with other freshman that you get along with- those are just the short term benefits. 5 days of rush for 3.5 years of amazing greek life, getting to know the other pledge classes, amazing connections (networking) and friendships for life?! I always have people to study with, my birthday is always celebrated by a ton of girls, you meet hot guys and have things to do at night all the time..I have girls to hang out in every single city over breaks, girls that have gotten to know me and text me random things that they know I would find funny, a zillion closets I could use, people to bring me up when I'm down. I would do it all. over. again.
I'm also in a "top tier" sorority, and no you will not be completely disregarded because of one of these things. Looking good is obviously a plus and wealth doesn't hurt... but your personality and compatibly plus style/looks is what matters. You're impressing girls .
Anyways, do it. If you hate it, which you won't, you can drop. If you love it, you'll get into a sorority and never look back. Your friends are truly missing out.

also even if your friends do rush with you, you'll be in different groups rushing so it doesn't really matter what they do.

It's 100% worth it. I had a total blast and honestly didn't get too tired. I had a change of heart about what I wanted half way through and am so glad that I did. Let the houses show you what they're about, not this site.
