Middle Frat Guide from a senior

Looking to have a well balanced social and academic life without being too nerdy but also without being too “frat”? This ain’t Rutgers after all. Here are some descriptions of “mid” houses that you should visit (NOT A RANKING!)

Chi phi

These are some of the biggest drinkers on campus. Love to rock jerseys, many of them were big athletes in high school. Quite “fratty” guys but a lot of them are smart and down to earth when you actually talk to them. Their hazing is quite bad though

Lambda

These guys are known to be kinda cool and artsy. They have a well known foam party every year and a gazebo overlooking the gorge. The hazing isn’t too bad, and the brotherhood seems strong.

Pikapp

These guys are the house you least wanna join. They do have some good events but brothers are typically known to be douchebags who got cut from upper houses because they didn’t have the swagger to back it up. Try too hard and care about mixing more than brotherhood even though they mix the same as the other houses on this list. Hazing bad.

Phi Tau:

idk too much about these guys but I know they always run stuff on Tuesdays which is kinda cool. Brotherhood is definitely strong and I hear they pulled a good PC last year. I don’t think they haze hard.

Pike

This is the largest brotherhood on campus. Pike is known for taking big classes of guys who typically lean engineer or related. Take the “normal” engineers and make them a little fratty but def not douchebags and put them in a house. Hazing also not bad.

AGR

This is a fraternity with mainly ag sci majors but not all. Just a bunch of chill dudes with a country aesthetic. Have a nice cult following of girls who love that vibe and throw a few huge parties every year. Hazing is moderate.

PSK

PSK has been dropping off lately due to taking a small unofficial class last year. These guys are financey but not finance bros. They are the academic finance grinders of Greek life. Great networking and business club connections and people tend to enjoy the house a lot. Hazing is surprisingly tough tho and has gotten them in trouble recently.
