sorority descriptions

feel free to disagree with me on this. i just went through rush and pledged a sorority and this is how all of the houses treated me as a pnm and then afterwards. yes, i do not know all the houses personally but hope this helps clear things up from the perspective of someone who is part of the greek system:
this is in no particular order within tiers:
alpha phi- honestly was not expecting to like them from what i'd heard first semester. however, the girls i talked to there treated me with respect and were genuinely interesting people. not a house that i feel like i could come down stairs with no makeup in, but many of my friends joined there and loved it. the girls are all very put together and a lot of fun. the house is spotless as well! not a super strong national name, there are parts of the country that have no idea what alpha phi is but at cornell has a very strong presence.
theta- every day after rush, all of my friends raved about theta. it's not hard to see why. everyone in the house is down to earth and very comfortable with themselves. within my rho gamma group, nobody cut theta throughout the whole process, which speaks for itself. historically they have been considered the "bottom of the core four" but they are definitely on the rise.
dg- i loved dg during rush. they were all very bubbly and seemed genuinely excited about their sisterhood. whether or not they are the "top" house like these sites seem to agree upon is iffy. i know plenty of wonderful, gorgeous

overall very nice girls who know how to party and have a great time.
azd- completely bashed before rush, so i was expecting to have a weird conversation where i'd have to nod politely and then leave. quite the opposite, the girl i talked to was great and the house is beautiful albeit very out of the way. many people cut/discount them based on historic reputation alone, which is not fair in the slightest. i know plenty beautiful girls who ended up in azd, some choosing them over dg and theta. don't judge by name alone.
aephi- competes for the same girls as SDT and ended up with more blondes this year (?) some of my friends were iffy on joining but ended up loving it. the giraffe is cute and betcheslovethis was started by aephis so thats also very cool. house is in an okay location in cayuga heights. have cute little jackets with a phi on them that they wear around campus so i can spot one from a mile away.
pss- still new, still growing. oddly enough, the juniors and seniors that joined for the hell of it during the first year are be chillest, funniest girls i've met on campus. some of the new pledge class wanted to be in phi sig more than any other house, others were cut by all other houses. it really depends on the person, this house is still too young to be judged as a whole. the location is good on west, kind of an odd looking house but near many frats and theta and west dining halls!
i'm sure not everyone agrees with this, and thats fine. comment away!
