rush question!!
by: questionHow hard is it to get a bid from a frat if I don’t know anyone before rush? (I’m looking at middle frats not top/upper ones) And do you have any tips for how to approach rush when it comes to frats where I don’t know anyone beforehand but I’m interested in? What do houses look for?

Don’t limit yourself to “mid” frats because you don’t think you’re worthy of upper. I’m sick of people doing ranking saying one frat is better than another. It’s all about who you vibe with. If you rush a frat for their “ranking” you will most likely end up unhappy. Do yourself a favor, and rush where you think you’ll be happy at for the next 4 years. Since you said you don’t know anyone, take full advantage of meet the Greeks/open houses and go talk to as many people in as many different houses as you possibly could. After meet the Greeks/first day of smokers, you should have a feel of where you want to rush and focus your time.

Follow this kids advice. Make as many connections as you can during meet the Greeks/smokers. Visit as many houses as possible and get an idea of where you wanna be. It really is about who you get along with. Don’t worry about the rank of the house on this site.
