Half of it was BS; preconceived notions like that make for a bad rush experience imo. I have friends who went in knowing everything wanting to be in certain houses who had their hearts crushed when then didn’t get then and realized too late that they wanted to be in another one. Feel out each house round one if you are a good judge of character you can pretty much tell round one which houses you would feel comfortable in
