should i bother rushing a sorority as a non-white person?
by: notwhitelolnot white but kind of want to rush. I know it's notoriously pretty white girls and I do not fit that description. the only thing I really have going for me is that my family income is decent and I can hold a conversation pretty well. should I even bother rushing?

this is a really valid concern to have. when i rushed, it was painfully obvious when i interacted with girls whether they even knew HOW to interact with women who weren't white or who didn't come from wealthy families.
it will be really apparent during rush which houses actually value diversity and which just want more token minorities. i remember talking to a white girl in a more "exclusive" house about how i valued diversity, and she immediately went "oh we are so diverse too ...." and turned to a brown sister next to her and said "____ you're from india right?" but the girl was actually from the united states.
just have your wits about you and KNOW that white girls will always have an advantage over you. even if one house is "higher ranked" than another and you are tempted to choose it, think about the experience you want and the image you are cultivating of yourself.
