pnms, tough truth about aphi/dg

Every year, naive freshmen have these annoying hopes about Alpha Phi and DG. I’m not mentioning Theta or Kappa because they’re just significantly less relevant.
Anyway, freshmen going through recruitment tend to have this annoying hope that they’ll end up in DG/Alpha Phi. There’s basically 2 routes in:
1) You went to a boarding school/made strong connections with girls in these houses pre-rush. Almost every girl that will get into these houses will know about it beforehand.
2) This option is very rare. You look like a model and have a glowing personality. This is like 10% of the time lol.
Also there’s a big difference in rush with who you are and who you want to be. If you’re a shy, awkward engineer and are trying to mold yourself into a girl that aphi would like during rush, I mean cool but that’s not who u r yk?
Honestly pnms if you don’t meet the 2 criteria I listed, don’t waste your energy or time. Treat these houses as a rest house.

They’re great for some people. If you aren’t meeting the criteria they are not great for YOU.

I was at DG for 15 minutes during rush and could tell the girls didn’t like each other. Bump groups are typically supposed to be friends and they were just straight up not getting along

You know what else is toxic? Parading to these two houses and being really jittery and nervous when you have absolutely no connections/chance of getting In
