Likewise, throw in the random PSS mixer for both.
As far as Pike vs. Pikapp; I think their brotherhoods are pretty similar in "coolness." Pikapp tends to be more outgoing/well-liked but suffers from a terrible location; Pike is a weird brotherhood that doesn't seem like its gels as well as other houses. Both frats have small houses with mediocre party spaces.
But on a small rant about mixing schedules:
Upper Middle Houses (Fiji, Chi Phi, Chi Psi) will generally mix more with Tridelt and Pi Phi and will mix with SDT (Chi Phi especially); Chi Psi / Chi Phi will get the occasional Core 4 mixer (Chi Psi usually when they host a live musician or large event; Chi Phi usually doesn't need to do that but their Core 4 relations are a lot shakier than they will let known to their rushes.)
In the end though, you'll learn that your mixing schedule really doesn't matter. There are decently hot girls in every sorority and enjoying the brothers you live with far outweighs who your mixing with on Saturday.
Just for an example, if you don't enjoy the Alpha Phi/DG vibe, its best you don't rush a place like DU or AD because those will be the people you tend to see at your parties and they will be your friends' friends.
Besides, personally there is a surprising amount of (not very vocal) individuals that generally dislike mixers. I've talked with friends in top houses and middle houses who would rather throw an open than have a mixer with the same 50 girls they had the week before. Mixers are a great way to meet new people in Greek life when your a freshman and sophomore, but by the time your a junior/senior you'll be seeing the same group of people at every mixer (and likely by that time you would've had enough of all the drama). Date nights and formals are much more fun.
