by: BroJust want to note that for girls at Cornell, it doesn’t matter if you’re in a sorority or not. Some of the most well-liked and hottest girls are not in sororities at all (Geeds), and every sorority has likeable girls as well. In fact, a lot of guys prefer girls who aren’t in sororities (who are either independent or on sports teams) for different reasons. On the other hand, you may have a tough time at Cornell if you’re a guy and not in a fraternity, so just putting that out there.

I used to (falsely) believe that guys care about the sorority I am in a lot. It is true that core 4 is more good looking than the rest. That's because they SELECT the hottest girls. They are already attractive themselves. Not the case that joining core 4 makes you more attractive. If you have a good face and good body shape it doesn't matter which sorority you are in.

Yeah, good point. Girls don’t need to join sororities to have a social life. I see girls who aren’t in sororities at parties all the time, and a couple of them are even more “popular” or well liked than core 4 girls. If it doesn’t feel right to join a sorority, don’t. Just trust your gut

Hi I agree with what you are saying, but I think what OP means is:
A lot of girls may feel like they HAVE TO join a sorority to have a social life, meet cool people, find dates and be liked by guys. But it's not necessary. You can still have a social life without being in a sorority and guys won't exclusively date sorority girls. Join a sorority if you truly feel right, love the vibe of the house and the sisters. Do not feel pressured to join bc you believe that you will be doomed otherwise. That's not the case at all
