need truly honest feedback
by: NY Dad
Hello:
Just hoping someone can take the time to give me a straight answer to help my son who is interested in rushing. I know all of you love your houses but I am just looking for a short list for him and would like your help. He is good-looking and athletic (know that sounds biased but is true) but is also very shy and quiet. Very chill guy and not the best at socializing but once he know you is funny and smart. He is not looking to party a lot (doesn't drink - that is HIS choice not mine) and definitely would not put up with hazing. Looking more for a house with a good brotherhood where partying is not the main concern. Does not care about social status. Know it won't be "top tier" but hopefully you can give some direction, even if it is not your house and you thing it might be a "lesser" house but better for him. Please provide a short list of possibles. Thanks so much.

Honestly sir, you've come to the wrong place for advice. Do not use this site for anything more than getting a general view of how frats rank. Your son sounds like a good kid and I think the only way he can find a house that's a good fit for him is to just go through the process of rushing and trust it. This site is filled with trolls and social-climbers. There are many frats for your son to check out, I recommend he simply goes to as many houses as possible and interact with as many brothers as possible. Now, you may be able to get a general understanding of the vibes of each house from this site but don't take anything at face value. Read the other discussions on this site, but obviously be wary. Asking people to list frats will get you a VERY biased response. Best of luck.

Hello sir. I would say probably Pi Kapp and Pike seem like a good fit for him. Sig Pi is also a group of cool guys who are easy to talk to but a little more "fratty". Sammy guys are also super sweet! I am a girl who rushed last year and these frats have some of the most genuine guys I've met. Best of luck to your son!

I’ll be honest, if your son needs his mommy to post, and find a fraternity for him, then he shouldn’t even be joining Greek life. Do you pick out his outfits and make him PB&J too? If your son isn’t outgoing and requires his parent to find a frat for him he shouldn’t be in Greek life, pretty simple.
