parties at o-week

sorry in advance for how lame this sounds but i'm an incoming (female) freshman and i want to know how i hear about/get invited to greek parties that are happening during o-week (or really any point in the year)? i'm super shy and not one to ask around (mostly because i dont want to come off as desperate) but i would love to have the experience
