coming to cals this fall as a transfer, can i rush?
by: PrincetonWant to rush this fall, and looking for a top frat. How do I rush and get accepted?

Real talk go out during o week and talk to guys in houses, specifically ask if they’re doing fall rush. If you’re looking for a top house you’re better off waiting until spring but it’s worth trying to secure some bids in the fall. Some houses will let you defer accepting a bid if you specify that you want a typical pledge class experience.

If you seem cool or likeable or have some friend in a certain house or even make friends with girls who are close to guys in certain houses, you have a better shot of getting in to an O-Week party.

Definitely rush (even the freshmen will), but I’d recommend putting off joining a house until second semester because it’s generally a better experience. If anything, it works better for houses if you say you’ll only join in the spring because I’d venture to say that most don’t want a fall class. They only take them because they are worried good rushes might slip through their hands to another house that is taking a fall class.

It depends on the house tho. Some houses like DU or Chi Psi, will take a large fall PC while others like Phi Psi, DX, or Sig Pi, might only take a couple guys. And some, like AD or Sig Phi or Sig Chi, and other houses will just have you dirty rush and and then rush in the spring.
