what does probation mean?

When a frat gets put on probabtion what can/can’t tbey do? I know suspension means a full ban of activities, but can they still party on probation?

They cab still have social events and other normal greek life activities but are more closely watched by the university. Every new fraternity/sororuty is automatically on probation for a year for their first year on campus.
