Definitely choose the house you vibe with the most. Odds are whatever frat u join will be on sopro at some point during your time at cornell, so dont let it be the deciding factor.

Join the brotherhood you feel like you fit in with best. Eventually you will realize that they are ultimately your best friends and things discussed on this website and parties are nowhere near the most important thing.

Being on social probation has really hurt their ranking, and that’s what most rushes care about. But early in the fall they were right below Chi Phi and would usually compete with Sig Nu for the #9 spot. Safe to say that when they come back next semester theyre most likely going to be at the upper middle again. So if you really like the brothers there and have the patience to go through just one semester without social events then you should join. If not then youll be fine somewhere else.

Rush was definitely rough for them. They cross rushed a good amount with phi psi and sig pi, so they attract a lot of cool kids but end up losing them to higher houses. But prior to their probation, houses like chi psi, fiji, zbt, and pike weren’t even in the same conversation as lambda. In fact most of their rejects end up in those houses. So id say if you care about rankings and are choosing between them and a top house then pick the higher house. But if it’s between 2 middle tier houses then your decision will be more difficult. Dont choose another mid tier house over them just because they can have mixers, lambda was better than most of them when they weren’t on so pro

if your other options are sig nu, fiji, or chi psi then its reasonable to choose them instead. But definitely DO NOT join frats like pike, pi kapp, or llenroc over lambda. This year they lost some kids to those houses, which is actually ridiculous that any person in their right mind would do that
