lambda social probation
by: HenryI got a bid from Lambda and another frat tonight. I'm split between the two and vibe with the guys in each. I've heard rumors that Lambda is on social probation for this semester and possibly into next year. Is this accurate? The other frat has a comparable frat, so this could definitely sway my decision toward the other one. Please help.

Although this is an anonymous forum and you should take my advice with a grain of salt, I know a few people in Lambda and can confirm this is true. Their national chapter put them on social probation this semester for various hazing allegations and for throwing their Foam Party while on probation from the IFC. This continued social probation from nationals will last into next year and possibly onward. It's honestly pretty fu.cked considering they didn't really do anything too wrong to deserve this treatment from nationals. Unless you really vibe with Lambda, I'd strongly suggest joining the other frat assuming it's decent. While mixing can be overrated, not mixing at all sucks and will seriously ruin your time as a brother. Good luck in your decision

^^^ what this guy said. Don't bother getting hazed for two months only to never go to a mixer. It's one thing to be on probation for a semester, like Pike and DU, but indefinite probation is terrible. There's a reason Lambda's ranked so low on this site
