You're looking at 750 kids competing for bids during rush week. First couple days, expect at least 200 kids to check out the upper tier frats, and maybe 150 or so at the mid frats. Once people start getting cut, the mids will get crowded during smokers as well as the lower tier frats. No matter where you go for the most part, expect to be competing with at least 100 people for the first few days of rush. Also this is over the course of a few hours as people usually check out at least 2 or 3 frats during the smoker time-frames

To be honest, here is my $0.02. It's definitely true that there are going to be a lot of guys rushing, and that certain houses are gonna have a lot of dudes. But the thing about rushing is that a lot of guys overthink it and end up acting either super disingenuous/fake/tryhard or put in no effort because they know people in the frat, and that hurts their chances. There are also people who would never really have a shot at the house in the first place and are rushing for fun. So you start knocking off these guys and you really dwindle it down to a more reasonable number of people you'd be really "competing" with, so the best mentality to have going in is the one that has constantly been reiterated throughout this site, which is to be yourself (or be your best self) and see if their vibe lines up with yours.

Just don't be lame or a douchebag and you should end up alright. Also practice your beer pong or chugging skills. If you impress some of the brothers in one of those that'll go a long way if the frat has a decently fratty vibe
