gpa factor in sorority rush?

Sophomore PNM, rushed last year but dropped out. Decided to rush again this year with a more open mind! Last year I had a GPA slightly under 3.0, so I was wondering how much lower GPAs affect PNM's chance at getting into a house? Are they cut because of it? I have now gotten my GPA up to a 3.0 - will this make any difference, especially considering I'm now a sophomore? Also how do they find out your Cornell GPA, there's no place on the rush application for it? Thanks!
