rankings post-rush??

How do people come up with changes in rank post-rush? Is it just from meeting the pledges, or what?

Have you noticed that the “rankings” literally never change? I wonder who has the most vested interest in maintaining them? Maybe the “top” houses, which coindidentally have the most insecure, status-concerned people? Just a thought.
