how hard is it to receive a bid?
by: PNMI am a freshman guy rushing this week and was wondering how difficult it is to actually get a bid. I know that there are three round of contacts, but unsure of how the process of receiving a bid works. How many brothers have to like you/vote yes for you to receive a bid? Someone told me that everyone in the frat has to approve you, but to me that doesn't seem reasonable. Thanks!

It varies by house. Some do whole chapter votes where a rush will need to receive more than half or some fraction greater than half approval (I've never heard of 100%, but its not out of the question). Other houses have selection committees that will listen to the greater chapter's opinion, but ultimately be the only votes that count
