I'm a girl and my house mixes a lot with both so I've gotten to know both of them pretty well. They're both really fun groups, but I personally love the fiji guys a lot just because that house is so much more diverse so there are definitely a wide array of people to meet which is something that's kind of becoming increasingly rare in many houses. They also go harder so they're a lot more fun at parties in my opinion lol but both houses are great options if you're thinking from a rush perspective (which you probably are) - definitely visit both! Fijis and Pikes tend to be really close friends, so they have a lot in common, and generally speaking all sororities love them :)

Rush both, they are both well regarded on campus. I personally like both as well.

That's why there is rush week, you can see the differences between both houses and make the choice based on your experience and who you click with.

i heard fiji hazes a lot, is that true

Both are really great houses, and the guys are good people. Personally, I like Pike more, but that's because they are a bit more chill than FIJI. Someone described them as the good guy husband house, which I think is pretty accurate. Not to say they don't rage, which they do, but you aren't going to black out on a monday with them. FIJI is a bit bigger and has fantastic guys. I think with the diversity comes a bit more disunity in their case, and I think the hazing and the probation took a toll on the brotherhood. But they are still nice guys. Definitely recommend rushing both.

Just a heads up: Fiji cannot host mixers at their house this year or next year. Something to consider.

which house is more selective when giving bids and how many pledges do they usually take a year?

do you fiji and pike were the first choices for most of the pledge classes or were they upper tier rejects

They're both great options in terms of rush! Like that girl said earlier, they tend to be friends with each other, so they're both pretty similar houses. I'd say both of them are really nice and fun. Fiji goes a little harder I'd say, and Pike is more of the kind of house where you end up becoming friends with all of the brothers after a few mixers. I mean, Fiji is like that too, but this is especially true of Pike. Fiji is quite diverse and that can initially be seen as not having much of a strong brotherhood, but I know that each pledge class is VERY close. PC 16 for instance all seem to have strong brotherhood ties to each other, so I don't think the "disunity" argument really applies. From what I know, both houses have quite a few engineers, and many of the brothers in each house rushed top houses, but opted for Pike or Fiji instead just because they thought these houses would be slightly easier to manage along with a typical engineer's workload. Personally I like Fiji more, but the houses are similar for sure. I like Fiji more just because the guys seem to genuinely love their house and are very close; a lot of the people in each pledge class said that they rushed other houses but chose Fiji over them because they just meshed better with the brothers, whereas I know more people in Pike trickle down from other houses but wind up liking Pike enough to join. Both pretty great houses in general, and even though Pike doesn't have a poor reputation, Fiji has the better reputation on campus as far as I know.
