rush questions

by:

I was hoping to have a few questions answered regarding rush, thanks in advance:

1. How competitive are the "top" 10 or so houses to get into? Like about how many people who go for a bid get one?

2. Do the houses tell you that they are not interested? or do you have to infer it based on them not inviting you to events during the week? Like do you get a straight yes or no

3. How much of the pledge class is made up by people who dirty rush?

4. How many houses is recommended to rush?

1. for the top 5 or so most of them are dirty rushed. their open houses are usually packed so its hard to make an impression.

2. there are 3 contact periods so they will either not show up but most of them come and tell you theyre not interested.

3. depends on the house and how the house decided to go about recruitment.

4. start with about 8 and drop 1 or 2 of them after each contact period.

1. it all comes down to a jello wrestling competition. the top 10 houses get VERY competitive. i've seen guys who have been training for months leading up to this throw down so watch out

2. it's sort of similar to the bachelor in they will give brothers they are interested in a rose. as rounds progress and things get more intimate you may end up getting very close with a brother only to find that he gives another guy a rose so dont get discouraged, there are plenty of houses in the sea.

3. every rush is dirty if you know what i mean ;)

4. rush every single house on campus, including the sororities. I heard they are more accepting than frats anyways and actually care about the kind of person you are :)
